Thach was excited to try the food @ Chives. Googled it and the reviews seem pretty okay. So, we were quite gung-ho and went to try on the week before Thach's surgery.
The atmosphere is good - nice upmarket deco that suggest that the menu is most likely to be pricey.

The service is good and the waitress was very attentive.

For entree, we wanted to order oysters but they ran out. We ordered fish toast and it came out as fish cakes. Thach & me looked at each other and wondered why we were served that instead of fish toast....

Main: tofu with mixed veggies - the tofu is the hard type and the sauce is sweet....

Soft shell crab with mango salad - the crab is too oily and not crispy but the mango salad is nice with a hint of zangy lemon

Chicken red curry - quite ordinary taste

Conclusion: we think that the price is too dear for the food. Nevertheless we enjoy the night out.
