Last Saturday we had birthday celebration for Thach & Nancy. Cha Cha Char is a place that we have been wanting to try for a while as it has reputation for making good steaks. As usual, make our reservation for 6pm dinner. Lazy to dress up this time, just rock up in long sleeve and jeans and hoping that the atmosphere is a bit more casual and relax rather than 'high society'(well - a lot of people were dressed up, but still not too bad)
Had 3 course meal - entree, mains and desert. Although I skipped desert and ordered flat white instead. Char doesn't really have a wide selection of desert and by the time for desert I was rather full!
Entree was good: we ordered grilled squid, scallop, lamb's brains and pork with mushroom. Guess what I eat? Of course, me being the 'adventurous one' had the lamb's brains. It tastes really good as well. Mains were of course steaks for everyone. My rib fillet was good as it is medium rare but just feel that the cut is too thick and next time will just order a slimmer cut. Nevertheless, the steaks still taste really juicy.
As said, ended up the night with desert that I gave a miss. Ice cream and apple tarte tartin looks tempting but I do not fancy stuffing myself. Perhaps next time.
